A Woven Rosa Wedding on the Mediterranean Coast

Last May, we celebrated our wedding in Jávea — a place that holds so much of what inspires Woven Rosa.

Set along the Spanish coastline, it was one of those golden days that seemed to stretch endlessly into night. Held in the grounds of a lived in finca, it was the most stunning setting for our day; set with an orange orchid, sprawling bougainvilleas, old rustic terracotta pots and a beautiful curved pool.

For the lunch we set out long tables filled with family and friends, it was a beautiful sunshine filled day that flowed into a balmy evening with flowing wine, fresh seafood and laughter, silly-ness and a constant clink of toasts that carried on for hours, until the dancing started and more wine flowed…

It really was the most special day that Tom and I will cherish forever. And it felt like everything Woven Rosa stands for, brought to life.

The Wedding Style

When it came to planning the general vibe of the wedding, I realised most of my ideas and vision was surrounding the table, and it was the table setting that gave me the most excitement during the planning process.

I wanted a relaxed table setting - beautifully messy if you like - layered with sunset tones, different textures and a touch of Spanish bohemian.

We tie-dyed our napkins in a soft Valencian orange, embossed each guest’s name onto silver metal place cards, and used hand painted plates as table numbers.

The tables were finished with fruit picked from the finca’s orchard and loose summer flowers, creating something that felt abundant, warm and effortlessly undone.

It was my perfect table and something I often refer back to when planning other events.

Designing a Collection for Sharing

For our wedding, we created a special serveware collection designed around one idea: sharing.

The collection consisted of large serving pates and sharing bowls. We wanted pieces that could be passed around the table, filled generously, and enjoyed together — a reflection of the way we love to eat and gather. We even found the sharing bowls perfect for icing and holding wine, which something I’ll definitely be doing again. So chic!

But of course, a Woven Rosa table wouldn’t feel complete without our signature Wave design, so we created a mini version of our plates to use as bread plates across the table.

While our ceramic dinner sets are designed for individual place settings, this collection focused on something more communal. Large platters, serving bowls, and pieces made to sit at the centre of the table.

The lunch was served on our large serving plates, and we passed around tapas, each dish arriving in a timely manner, giving us time to appreciate each flavour. We enjoyed burrata salad and garlic mushrooms, followed by king prawns, and then a spicy chorizo, before digging into plates of Paella Valenciana, which had been slowly simmering away all morning.

It was delicious, and it’s true that the best meals are the ones shared.

Inspired by the Mediterranean

The collection was deeply inspired by the Mediterranean coastline that surrounded us.

The Jávea Serving Plate is hand-painted in a swirling design, inspired by the sea, and the Palmera Serving Plate boasts a single palm tree, painted from a photo that was taken on the finca during a visit.

The Alba and Luna Serving Bowls hand painted in two colourways inspired by a golden summer day, taking you from dawn to night. Warm tones of yellow, sun-faded orange, soft pinks and rich purples echoed the landscape — from early morning light to golden sunsets and dusky evenings.

These are the colours that continue to influence our colourful ceramic dinnerware today — shades that feel sun-soaked, joyful and timeless.

A Little Something Extra

We also wanted to create something personal for our guests to take away. Tom made a homemade Batch Coffee liqueur, and I designed a small espresso cup in two colour-ways for us all to toast with as the evening unfolded. These became our wedding favours — a little piece of the day to take home, and something to be used and enjoyed long after the celebration.

Long Tables & Late Nights

We set long tables that ran through the space, layered with our ceramic serveware, ready to be filled and passed from one guest to another.

I chose crisp white tablecloths and large cream dinner plates to create a sense of understated elegance, allowing the flowers and colourful ceramics to really stand out. Bamboo chairs added a soft, bohemian touch that felt in keeping with the finca setting, while soft purple water glasses brought an unexpected, playful detail — a subtle layer of colour woven through the table.

There was no formality — just abundance, movement, and connection.

Plates passed, glasses refilled, stories shared and then reshared.

As the evening went on, dinner turned into dancing, and dancing into late-night conversations under the stars.

The Heart of Woven Rosa

Creating this collection felt personal in every sense.

It reflected not only the aesthetic of Woven Rosa, but the feeling behind it — bringing people together, celebrating colour, and finding joy in the moments shared around a table.

From our dinner sets to our serveware, every piece is designed with that same intention.

To be used, passed, shared and enjoyed.
